Buchholz continues to make progress
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Just watched Clay Buchholz throw in the outfield. He got out to what looked like 120 feet then came back in and threw 20-25 pitches from 60 feet.
Buchholz said he threw all his pitches at the end of his session. Nothing has been announced yet, but he's line to throw off the mound in the bullpen on Tuesday. That would be a big test of his injured back.
"Everything felt fine," he said. "Threw everything. It felt good."
Buchholz then sprinted up the steps from the field to the clubhouse, taking two at a time. You can't do that if your back is bothering you.

• The Sox will wear U.S. flags on their jerseys and hats today.
• Now that Pawtucket's season is over, the team will decide tomorrow which players to call up. The only Class AAA 40-man roster players not in the big leagues now are Lars Anderson, Luis Exposito, Jose Iglesias and Junichi Tazawa.
Terry Francona didn't give much indication as to what the team is thinking. But it seems reasonable to think Iglesias and Tazawa would come up.
The Sox also could make some 40-man moves to bring somebody else up.
• The Rays won't have Kyle Farnsworth (tender elbow) for a few days.
