TORONTO — Ryan Kalish was scheduled to have surgery on his neck last week in Los Angeles. But that has been delayed, according to player development director Mike Hazen.
Kalish is seeing different doctors to gather as much information as possible before getting the surgery done. He has a bulging disc that is causing nerve issues. That injury and a previous shoulder injury limited him to 24 games this season, all in the minors.
The promising 23-year-old outfielder played 53 games in the majors last season.
Once Kalish has surgery, it is expected he will ready for the start of spring training.
