Dan Wheeler has had forearm stiffness, which is why you haven't seen him since Sept. 7. He appears to be improving.

J.D. Drew gets re-checked by the docs today to see how that busted knuckle on his right middle finger is. He could accelerate his return at that point.

Terry Francona said Junichi Tazawa is available to give the Red Sox multiple innings if needed.

Erik Bedard, tomorrow's starter, won't go near the 100-pitch mark in his outing according to Francona. It may be one of those five innings and done situations.

Jed Lowrie will play in the second game against the lefty Brian Matusz.
