Major League Baseball named Red Sox outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury the AL Comeback Player of the Year.

The award, which was first given in 2005, is selected by MLB.com's 30 team beat reporters.

Ellsbury hit .321 with 32 home runs, 105 RBIs, 46 doubles, 39 steals and 119 runs scored a year after missing all but 18 games due to injuries. He was the first 30/30 player in team history and made the All-Star team for the first time.

Lance Berkman of the Cardinals was the NL award winner.
