Leary the latest Red Sox coach to get fired
The Red Sox have fired Rob Leary, a coaching staff assistant. He had been with the team for 10 years, the last two on the major league staff.
Staff assistants aren't in uniform for games but assist in pre-game activities and game preparation.
By the time it's all said and done, you could see a dozen or so people leave the organization, willingly or not. John Henry made it pretty clear on the radio this morning that he's not pleased with the current state of affairs.
The Red Sox are 34 games over .500 the last two years. The Yankees are 60 games over and the Rays 50 games over in that same stretch.
