A team source has confirmed a report by WEEI earlier today that the Red Sox have fired strength and conditioning coach Dave Page and assistant athletic trainer Greg Barajas.

John Henry, Larry Lucchino and Ben Cherington have said since the end of the season that the medical department would be under review given the number of injuries the team has suffered in recent season and the perception around the game that Red Sox players, particularly pitchers, are out of shape.

Page had been with the Red Sox for six years. The Malden, Mass., native worked for the Florida and Arizona organizations before joining the Red Sox.

Barajas was on the major league training staff for two seasons after spending 12 years in the minors with the Red Sox and Brewers.
