Red Sox president/CEO Larry Lucchino and ESPN Baseball Tonight analyst Bobby Valentine will be together on a World Affairs Council Panel discussion tonight in Hartford to discuss "How Baseball Has Gone Global."

The event begins at 7 p.m. at the Hartford Club on 46 Prospect Street.

The event was originally scheduled for April, but postponed after the earthquake hit Japan.

Lucchino, along with GM Ben Cherington and Sox executive Allard Baird, have been interviewing managerial candidates which so far have yielded Brewers hitting coach Dale Svuem and Phillies bench coach Pete Mackanin.

Valentine managed 15 years - eight with the Texas Rangers and seven with the New York Mets where he won the 2000 National League pennant. He also managed the Chiba Lotte Marines where he won the Japan Series.
