Valentine waiting for word while in Japan
A few items of interest for you:
Bobby Valentine is in Japan doing some charity work while waiting to hear from the Red Sox.
Former Red Sox first base coach Ron Johnson will manage Class AAA Norfolk in the Baltimore system next season. Best of luck to RJ, who's a good man.
Yu Darvish is getting divorced and that could delay his being posted by the Nippon Ham Fighters.
You have to wonder if the Red Sox would make a bigger play for Darvish with Valentine as manager. Then again, given the Dice-K Experience, investing big yen on a Japanese pitcher probably doesn't hold a lot of appeal regardless.
