Here's a look at some of the main events on the Red Sox and MLB calendar.
Feb. 1-21: Salary arbitration hearings, St. Petersburg, Fla.
Feb. 11— Truck Day: Red Sox equipment truck will leave Fenway Park for arrival in Fort Myers, Fla.
Feb. 19: Voluntary reporting date to spring training for pitchers, catchers and injured players.
Feb. 21: Spring training: First workout for Red Sox pitchers and catchers
Feb. 24: Voluntary reporting date to spring training for positional players
Feb. 25: Spring training: First Red Sox full-squad workout
March 2: Spring Training: Mandatory reporting date to spring training
March 2-11: Teams may renew contracts of unsigned players
March 3: Red Sox spring opener vs. Northeastern, 2:35 p.m.; Red Sox vs. Boston College, 7:05 p.m. at JetBlue Park
March 4: Red Sox Grapefruit League opener vs. Twins, 1:35 p.m. at JetBlue Park
March 13: Red Sox vs. Yankees in Tampa, 7:05 p.m.
March 17: Red Sox vs. Orioles at JetBlue Park, 1:35 p.m.
March 19: Last day to place a player on unconditional release waivers and pay 30 days termination pay instead of 45 days
March 22: Red Sox vs. Yankees, JetBlue Park, Fort Myers, 7:05 p.m.
March 28-29: 2012 MLB season opener in Japan: Mariners vs. A's, Tokyo.
April 4: 2012 MLB season opening night, Cardinals at Marlins
April 5: Red Sox season opener at Detroit
April 13: Red Sox home opener vs. Tampa Bay Rays
April 20: Red Sox vs. Yankees, Fenway Park’s 100th anniversary celebration
June 8-11: Interleague play begins: Nationals at Red Sox
July 10: 83d MLB All-Star game, Kauffman Stadium, Kansas City
July 22: Hall of Fame inductions, Cooperstown, N.Y.
July 31: Non-waiver trade deadline: Last day to trade a player without securing waivers
Aug. 31: Final day to trade for a player who will be eligible for a postseason roster
Sept. 1: Active rosters expand to 40 players
Oct. 3: Last game of regular season: Red Sox at Yankees
Dec. 3-6: Baseball winter meetings, Nashville, Tenn.
