FORT MYERS, Fla. Today will be the first official workout for pitchers and catchers and the first real chance to see Bobby Valentine in action as the Red Sox manager.

From what he and bench coach Tim Bogar have said, there's not going to be a whole of standing around.

Dustin Pedroia has arrived at camp, joining the large group of position players who have arrived early. Darnell McDonald was scheduled to fly in last night, so he could be here, too.

Hang with us here at Extra Bases for all the news. I'll be on 98.5 The Sports Hub at 3 p.m. today (and for the rest of the week) with a report as well. The station also will have reports all day from WBZ's Dan Roche starting at 8:40 a.m.
