Thanks to Dan Shaughnessy, we have some information on the "B" game back in Fort Myers.

The Sox won, 4-1, in a game that lasted eight innings. Jose Iglesias was 2 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored. Will Middlebrooks added a two-run double, as did Daniel Nava.

The pitching lines:

Jon Lester: 2.2 innings, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 1 K

Matt Albers: 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 2 K

Scott Atchison: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 0 K

Drake Britton: 2 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 1 K

Lester had thrown 34 pitches in the game with two outs in the second inning, so they stopped it there. Then he came back out for the third inning and threw 10 more.

"That's what's good about 'B' games, controlling things," pitching coach Bob McClure said. "He was repeating the same delivery and getting a feel for all his pitches, getting comfortable."

The Red Sox have another "B" game scheduled for Sunday in Sarasota against Baltimore. Bobby Valentine said this morning that a fourth such game also is on the docket, although he wasn't sure of the date.

With so many pitchers in camp, the Sox are making sure that everybody gets a good look.
