Francona: Red Sox will make the playoffs
DETROIT — ESPN polled 49 folks in their employ about the coming season, basically everybody there who writes, talks or thinks about baseball.
The person we were most curious about was Terry Francona, proud member of the media.
Here are his picks:
AL East champ: Yankees
AL Central champ: Tigers
AL West champ: Angels
Wild cards: Red Sox, Rays
AL Champion: Angels
NL East champ: Phillies
NL Central champ: Brewers
NL West champ: Diamondbacks
NL Wild cards: Giants, Cardinals
NL Champion: Phillies
World Series: Angels over Phillies
So at least Tito has faith. Curt Schilling had the Red Sox out of the playoffs. It's all that Bobby Valentine's fault, no doubt.
