MINNEAPOLIS Daisuke Matsuzaka will make his next minor league rehabilitation start on Saturday at Hadlock Field for Portland. He will face Reading.

Matsuzaka went four inning for Single-A Salem on Monday, allowing three runs on six hits. According to Bobby Valentine, Matsuzaka felt fine afterward.

In other news:

Daniel Bard is not available tonight and is set to start on Friday in Chicago.

Rich Hill is set to pitch for Pawtuket tonight and Wednesday. If he gets through the back-to-back games, that could be his last hurdle before returning to the big leagues.

Carl Crawford was in Boston today to get his strained left elbow checked. Valentine said they were still waiting on a report. "Until a guy is 100 percent, you always have concern," he said.

David Ortiz called Dustin Pedroia "a [really bad word] chihuahua" before the game.
