Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine said on ESPN Radio in New York just now that Daniel Bard will start against the Yankees and CC Sabathia on Sunday night.

On Friday, Valentine said there was a discussion about the idea of starting Jon Lester. With the team off today, Lester could pitch on Sunday on regular rest.

Instead it will be Clay Buchholz, Felix Doubront and Bard against Ivan Nova, Freddy Garcia and Sabathia.
