Aaron Cook's unique complete game
According to the Red Sox, Aaron Cook's performance Friday night was indeed a rarity.
Since 1988 (pitch count records are sketchy before then), Cook is the first Red Sox pitcher to record a nine-inning complete game with 81 pitches or fewer.
Roger Clemens, you may recall, had an 86-pitch one-hit shutout of the Indians in 1988.
