The Red Sox promoted outfielder Juan Carlos Linares from Double A Portland to Triple A Pawtucket, which cleared the way for the organization to promote Jackie Bradley Jr. from High A Salem to Portland, the team announced Thursday.

Bradley, 22, ranked as Boston's No. 10 prospect by Baseball America, joined the Sea Dogs from the High A Salem after leading the team, as well as all Red Sox minor leaguers, with a .359 batting average (84-for-234). Bradley was selected with the 40th overall pick (compensation for losing Adrian Beltre) in the 2011 First-Year Player Draft by the Red Sox, out of the University of South Carolina.

Bradley ranked among minor league hitters in: on-base percentage (1st, .480), doubles (tied for second, 26), walks (7th, 52) and average (8th, 359). He hit .382 with 21 walks, a .513 on-base percentage and 1.142 OPS to lead all Carolina League hitters in May and was honored as the Topps Carolina League Player of the Month for May.

He recently represented Salem in the Carolina/California League All-Star game and went 0-for-5 with a run scored and a RBI in the midsummer classic on Tuesday night.

Linares ranked second in the Eastern League in hitting with a .333 average. He appeared in 58 games for the Sea Dogs with 8 home runs and 33 RBI. The 27 year-old ranked second in the league in on base percentage (.403) and fourth in slugging percentage (.538). He was named the Eastern League Player of the Week April 5th through 15th. The Cuba native was signed by the Red Sox as an international free agent on July 8, 2010.
