Ortiz joins the Run of Hope on Saturday

There's an event worth your support on Saturday at the Hatch Shell on the Charles River Esplanade.

Four Seasons Boston and David Ortiz are hosting the Run of Hope, a 5K run and 2K walk, for the third consecutive year.

There will be a pancake breakfast, an ice cream truck from Mix 104.1, children's characters, a fun run, games, a raffle with great prizes and awards for the top runners.

All proceeds benefit the Massachusetts General Hospital for Children. The event starts at 10:10 a.m. and Big Papi will be on hand along with Shayna Seymour from WCVB-TV.

Three companies that always support David's charitable work — Reebok, vitaminwater and popchips — will provide t-shirts, food and drinks for the participants.
