The Red Sox are 2-5 against Baltimore this season and have lost 10 of their last 14 games against the Orioles going back to last season. That obviously includes Game 162 and everything that came with that night.

The Orioles have won their last six games at Fenway Park and seven of their last eight. They are 4-0 at Fenway this season, 3-0 in extra innings.

Not that you want Bobby Valentine to stand on a chair and give a rousing speech tonight. But that's a little embarrassing, no?

Buck Showalter said Tuesday night's 8-6 victory in 10 innings was a significant one for his team.

"I try not to get too high or two low, but that's one of our better wins of the year. That was a real test for us a little bit," he said. "It was a really good win for us. We've had a lot of good ones. This environment and the chance to roll over a couple times, it doesn't surprise me at all. It was good to see."
