CHICAGO — The Red Sox have signed their first pick in the draft, Arizona State shortstop Deven Marrero, according to Baseball America.
Marrero, the 24th overall pick, received $2.05 million.
The Sox have signed 10 of their first 12 picks. The exceptions are LHP Brian Johnson (1st round, 31st overall) and RHP Austin Maddox (3rd round). They are still playing for the University of Florida in the College World Series.
