As the Toronto Blue Jays arrive at Fenway Park for a three-game series this weekend, they just completed a 10-player deal with the Houston Astros.

Toronto receives: LHP J.A. Happ, RHP Brandon Lyon, RHP David Carpenter

Houston receives: RHP Francisco Cordero; OF Ben Francisco; RHP Joe Musgrove (2011 draft pick, 46th overall); RHP Asher Wojciechowski (2010 draft pick, 41st overall); LHP David Rollins (2011 draft pick, 24th round); C Carlos Perez and a player to be named later.

Toronto gets Happ, a solid starter under team control through the 2014 season. That helps them now and down the road, Houston gets three young starters (Musgrove, Wojciechowski and Rollins) who should help rejuvenate their farm system.

Lyon was drafted by the Blue Jays in 1999. The Red Sox claimed him off waivers in 2002. The Sox then traded him to Pittsburgh in 2003, got him back nine days later, then traded him to Arizona as part of the Curt Schilling deal that November.

Toronto also recalled OF Travis Snider for tonight's game. Happ and Lyon will report to the Jays on Saturday. Carpenter was assigned to Triple-A Las Vegas.

The Jays are expected to make a roster move on Saturday to fit one of their new pitchers on the roster. Happ will not start at Fenway this weekend.
