Crawford to begin rehab stint Thursday
Outfielder Carl Crawford will begin an injury rehabilitation assignment Thursday night at Pawtucket.
Crawford originally started a rehab assignment from June 23-30 with the Gulf Coast Red Sox and continued from July 3-5 with the Portland Sea Dogs.
But he suffered a left groin strain while running out a triple July 5 while with the PawSox. His 20-day rehab clock will begin anew tomorrow.
Crawford has not played for the Red Sox this season because of offseason surgery on his left wrist and then a sprained ligament in his left elbow.
