OAKLAND, Calif. A few pre-game tidbits from Oakland Coliseum . . .

The Sox have called up infielder Ivan DeJesus from Pawtucket. With Dustin Pedroia's wife close to having their second baby, the second baseman could be called away for a few days before the road trip is over.

DeJesus is one of the prospects obtained from the Dodgers in The Trade. He can play second and shortstop.

Yes, Pedro Ciriaco is starting in left field. No, he has never started in the outfield before.

Ryan Kalish is having problems with his shoulder, which explains why he hasn't been playing.

Jacoby Ellsbury is out of the lineup with a sore right wrist.

RHP Scott Atchison is scheduled to pitch for Pawtucket on Monday.
