Saltalamacchia suffers back spasms
Jarrod Saltalamacchia left tonight's game after the seventh inning due to back spasms.
Bobby Valentine said that Saltalamacchia developed the spasms due to the long delay, but did not address if he thought it would affect the catcher's availability.
Ryan Lavarnway played the eighth and ninth innings and had one at-bat, a grounder to shortstop.
Before leaving the game, Saltalamacchia had hit three fly balls to left field in the second, fourth and sixth innings.
