Drew feeling better; no word from Ortiz
FORT MYERS, Fla. — A few notes from the Red Sox clubhouse this morning:
• David Ortiz was at his locker but on the phone the entire time. The hope is to speak to him later on about his status.
• Stephen Drew, who has been out for four days with a concussion, said he was feeling better and was hoping to be cleared. He has assorted tests to pass first, including one administered by Major League Baseball.
• Alfredo Aceves, his Team Mexico equipment bag in hand, returned to the clubhouse from the World Baseball Classic just after 8 a.m. Clay Buchholz greeted him with a hug.
For the record, there seemed to be no look of Satan in Aceves' eyes.
• Dustin Pedroia came in wearing a Bigfoot t-shirt. He is a big fan of the show "Finding Bigfoot" on Animal Planet.
By the way, there have been reports about a Bigfoot-type creature in Bradenton, Fla.
"It's a skunk-ape," said Pedroia, who is somehow current with all Bigfoot-related news.
