Game over: Red Sox 7, Twins 3: The Sox improve to 10-9 as they had 12 hits, five of them doubles.

Middle of the 9th: Red Sox 7, Twins 3: Last ups for the Twins as Terry Doyle tries to finish the game off.

Headed to the clubhouse, back in a bit.

Top of the 9th: Red Sox 6, Twins 3: An error by Pedro Ciriaco at third base helped lead to two runs by the Twins.

There was an interesting play in the inning. With the bases loaded, Jackie Bradley Jr. fielded a shallow fly ball to center. When the runner at third faked going to the plate, Bradley adjusted and threw to third and nearly got the out.

Fun to see a Red Sox center fielder with a good arm. It has been a while.

Middle of the 8th: Red Sox 6, Twins 1: Brock Holt doubled and scored on a single by Mitch Maier.

Top of the 8th: Red Sox 5, Twins 1: Daniel Bard put two runners on in the sixth then worked out of the jam. That's three straight scoreless innings for him. The Sox, meanwhile, have one hit since the third inning.

Middle of the 6th: Red Sox 5, Twins 1: The last 11 Red Sox have gone in order. Uehara, who had been perfect in five outings, loaded the bases on an infield single and two walks but got Morneau to chase the first pitch and pop to shortstop.

Sox have subbed out their starters for the most part.

Top of the 5th: Red Sox 5, Twins 1: The Sox went in order in the fourth. Dempster then allowed a home run by Chris Parmelee.

Top of the 4th: Red Sox 5, Twins 0: The Sox loaded the bases in the third but failed to score as Nava popped to center and Pedroia grounded out. Dempster then retired the side in order.

Middle of the 2nd: Red Sox 5, Twins 0: Iglesias doubled to left and scored on a double by Ellsbury. Nava and Pedroia walked to load the bases. Napoli struck out (after a long at-bat) but Middlebrooks crushed a three-run double to the gap in left, the ball reaching the fence.

Top of the 2nd: Red Sox 1, Twins 0: The Sox started the game with singles by Ellsbury and Nava. Pedroia fanned but Napoli singled to right to drive in a run. He is having a great spring. Middlebrooks flied deep to center before Overbay walked to load the bases.

Gomes hit the ball hard but Pelfrey snagged it and threw to first for the final out.

Dempster allowed a single by Carroll as Gomes just missed a diving catch. Willingham then bounced into a double play started by Iglesias.

Pre-game: Good afternoon from Hammond Stadium, where it's 63 and windy. Ryan Dempster will be on the hill from the Red Sox.

We'll have occasional updates, so please hang out and feel free to leave a comment.
