Game over: Twins 8, Red Sox 3: The Sox were held to six hits and fell to 16-17-1.

Top of the 9th: Twins 8, Red Sox 2: Ciriaco had a triple in the eighth inning. Ronald Bermudez then drove in a run.

Off to the clubhouse. Back in a bit.

Top of the 8th: Twins 7, Red Sox 1: Marco Duarte allowed three runs on five hits in the seventh inning. All of the starters (except Ciriaco) are out of the game. Sox are being out-hit 10-2. Must a collective hangover from winning the Mayor's Cup last night and the long party that followed.

Middle of the 6th: Twins 4, Red Sox 1: Bradley walked before singles by Ellsbury and Pedroia scored him. First two hits for the Sox.

Top of the 6th: Twins 4, Red Sox 0: Tazawa allowed two singles and a walk to load the bases. When Ryan Doumit grounded to first, Tazawa was late covering the base and the Sox could not turn a double play. But he then got Parmelee to ground into a DSP.

Top of the 5th: Twins 3, Red Sox 0: Twins pitchers have faced the minimum so far. Outside of a walk, the Sox haven't been on base.

Dempster allowed two walks and a single in the fourth. He is likely done for the day.

Top of the 4th: Twins 2, Red Sox 0: The Sox do not yet have a hit. Dempster had two strike outs in the bottom of the inning.

Top of the 3rd: Twins 2, Red Sox 0: RBI doubles by Ramirez and Escobar gave the Twins the lead.

Top of the 2nd: Red Sox 0, Twins 0: Both teams went in order. Rather uneventfully, too.

Pre-game: Good afternoon from sunny Fort Myers and Hammond Stadium, about four miles from JetBlue Park. It'll be the Red Sox against the Twins.

We'll have updates throughout the game. So feel free to hang out and leave some comments.
