FORT MYERS, Fla. Greetings from the hottest spot in college basketball.

Florida Gulf Coast University, the 15th-seeded Sweet 16 Cinderellas of the NCAA men's basketball tournament, is a mere eight miles from Jet Blue Park. Until this week, only a few of the Red Sox knew there was a team there.

They all do now, as does the rest of the country, after the Eagles beat Georgetown and San Diego State to advance. The players, coaches and most everybody else at the ballpark was talking about it this morning.

Gulf Coast Town Center, an outdoor shopping and dining spot that is close to the school, was hopping last night with people watching the game and cheering.

Did you know that FGCU coach Andy Enfield is a former Celtics assistant coach under Rick Pitino? He was in Boston from 1998-2000.

There is one undefeated team in NCAA tournament history and they're in the Fort. Who could have guessed?

The Eagles play Florida on Friday at 9:57 p.m. in Arlington, Texas, in the South Region semifinals.
