Red Sox manager John Farrell said he's confident that his players will not be a part of any Major League Baseball investigation of the Biogenesis clinic, which allegedly sold and distributed performance enhancing drugs to major league players.

"Confident, yes," Farrell said. "I know thereís been some preliminary notice that none of our players are on it, but knowing them first hand as we do, I certainly would be shocked if anybody showed up on it based on how well we know them. The only thing you can say about it is itís an ongoing investigation. We are asked to abide and required to abide by testing and consequences that might come about as a result of it. Iím sure the course it will take will be to get to the bottom of it, as rightfully so."

He added about those who have taken the substances, "Itís unfortunate that the decision has been made as often as theyíve been. Whether or not theyíre proven guilty remains to be seen, but the one thing that been so great about this game is whether itís the steroid situation or work stoppages, itís a resilient game and its come back from the temporary black eyes that it suffers."
