After taking two in Atlanta, the Red Sox and Braves shift their home-and-home series to Fenway, with the Sox looking to build on the two wins they’ve tallied since breaking their stubborn 10-game losing streak.

The Red Sox can make it three in a row on Wednesday, the same night the team pays tribute to the 2004 “Idiots” that brought Boston a World Series championship for the first time in 86 years.

John Lackey will get the ball for the Sox, looking for his sixth win of the 2014 season that has seen him go 5-3 with a 3.58 ERA in 10 starts. His last outing was a tough one to swallow, as he threw seven shutout innings against the Rays, scattering five hits, but the team couldn’t give him any offense, eventually losing 1-0 in the bottom of the ninth.

Lackey has only pitched against the Braves once in his career, back in 2005 with the Angels when he allowed two runs over six innings with six strikeouts. Only two Atlanta hitters have faced Lackey more than a handful of times, with Gerald Laird getting three hits in 30 career at bats and B.J Upton recording six with two home runs in 29 career at bats.

On the mound for the Braves is Gavin Floyd, who is 0-1 with a 2.49 ERA in four starts this season after missing the first month of the year due to recovering from elbow surgery he underwent in 2013. His last outing lasted 6.2 innings against the Colorado Rockies, when he allowed two runs on seven hits with seven strikeouts.

Floyd has some familiarity with the Red Sox due to his seven seasons in the American League with the White Sox. Of the current Red Sox hitters, David Ortiz, Dustin Pedroia, and Grady Sizemore have faced him the most. Against Floyd, Ortiz has eight hits, including three home runs, in 25 at bats; Pedroia have six hits in 24 at bats; and Sizemore has five hits in 22 at bats.
