Home Run City: Koji Uehara Gives Up Long Ball in 10th Inning

Koji Uehara gave up a rare home run ball at the wrong time.

With the game scoreless in the 10th inning, Twins right fielder Chris Parmelee connected on an 81 mile-per-hour splitter from Uehara that landed in the Minnesota bullpen to give the Twins the one run advantage with three outs to go.

The dominant Uehara had thrown 21 scoreless innings going back to May 1 before giving up the homer to Parmelee, who had three of the four Twins hits on the day.

But it was Koji's lucky day as David Ortiz and Mike Napoli went deep in the bottom half of the tenth inning to make it a 2-1 walkoff for the Sox.
