Over the past two nights, the Red Sox have been able to string together consecutive wins for the first time in almost two weeks, beating the Blue Jays in back-to-back extra inning games, the first time they have done that on the road since 1986. Now they go for a three-game sweep in Toronto, a feat they haven’t accomplished in a series since sweeping the Royals in the first three contests after the All-Star Break. David Ortiz is back in the lineup after missing the past two games; here’s a glance at the rest of the Sox’ starting nine:

RED SOX (58-74)

1. Brock Holt (SS)
2. Dustin Pedroia (2B)
3. David Ortiz (DH)
4. Mike Napoli (1B)
5. Daniel Nava (LF)
6. Allen Craig (RF)
7. Mookie Betts (CF)
8. Will Middlebrooks (3B)
9. David Ross (C)
SP: Joe Kelly (RHP) (2-3, 4.26 ERA)

BLUE JAYS (66-66)

2. Melky Cabrera (LF)
3. Jose Bautista (RF)
4. Adam Lind (1B)
5. Edwin Encarnacion (DH)
6. Dioner Navarro (C)
7. Juan Francisco (3B)
8. Kevin Pillar (CF)
9. Munenori Kawasaki (2B)
SP: Marcus Stroman (7-5, 4.11 ERA)

Game time: 7:07 p.m.

TV/Radio: NESN, 93.7 WEEI

Notes: The Red Sox beat the Blue Jays last night, 11-7 in 11 innings at Rogers Center...It came one night after defeating the Jays 4-3 in 10 innings to open the series…The Sox sent 10 batters to the plate and scored 7 runs to take the deciding lead in the 11th inning last night...It matched the club’s most runs in any frame this season for the 2nd time, also the 6th on 8/14 vs. HOU…Elias says the Red Sox had not scored as many as 7 runs in an inning as late as the 11th since matching that feat with 7 runs in the 11th on 6/4/82 at CAL…Boston was the 1st ML team to score 7+ runs in a single extra inning since the Twins scored 7 in the 10th to win 10-3 on 7/23/13 at LAA…A win today would give Boston its 8th sweep of the season, 3rd on the road, and 1st in a road series of at least 3 games since 5/17-19/13 at MIN (3-0).
