BONUS: Will the real J.D. Drew stand up?
Drew may have had more trouble adjusting to the culture here than the Japanese imports, especially after a slow start made the right-fielder and his $14 million contract an inviting target. But his second-half numbers (.286 BA, .379 OBP, .462 SGP) were respectable, and while his lack of power was shocking, his grand slam in Game 6 of the ALCS may have been the single most important at-bat of the season for the Sox. Drew stayed healthy and played above-average defense, hustled at all times, and showed that his bat is still capable of coming to life. He and the fans both know better what to expect.
