
Darryl Eto, the performance specialist who is working five days a week with Ramirez, says that hard work is the 34-year-old slugger's mantra. He's even got Ramirez pulling a weighted sled, a throwback to the days when a teen-aged Ramirez used to get up at 4:30 a.m. to run the steepest hills of New York's Washington Heights section, pulling a car tire roped to his waist.
