The making of Jacoby Ellsbury
He stole our hearts
Ellsbury's first stint in the major leagues was a brief but memorable one. In a six-game stretch in July 2007, he hit .375 in 16 at bats and demonstrated a skill set that fans aren't used to seeing in these parts. Of note was a play on which he scored all the way from second base on a wild pitch. It was noted by Globe columnist Bob Ryan as the first "Omigod moment" of Ellsbury's career.
