Ellsbury is the first Native American of Navajo descent to play in the majors. He grew up in Oregon and reached the College World Series at Oregon State. His hometown of Madras, Ore., held a parade for the Sox outfielder after the World Series. "I want to do the right things, on and off the field," Ellsbury said. "There are certain things you should do. I am fortunate to be the first Navajo [in the majors], but I feel there are some obligations, things I need to do and should do."
