Josh Beckett (center) and Bobby Abrea ignited a bench-clearing scuffle in the first inning Sunday. The excitement began when Abreu called time and backed out of the box. Beckett, already in his wind-up, fired the ball at Abreu's head. Abreua barked at Beckett. Beckett barked back.
