
The Indians did not retain Nixon's services and in February of 2008, he penned a minor-league contract with an invitation to spring training with the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The team subsequently sent him to its Triple-A affiliate the Tucson Sidewinders, where Nixon spent the first part of the season trying to work his way back to the majors.
