Alex Cora3B, free agent
Cora played almost four years with the Red Sox, joining the team in the middle of the 2005 season via trade and he played all over the infield. He was released by the Mets last August and subsequently picked up by the Rangers, who released him two weeks later. Cora made an impression in those two weeks, because the Rangers rewarded him with an American League championship ring. This offseason, he signed a minor-league contract with the Washington Nationals. He hit .224 in 91 games and is currently a free agent. After announcing his retirement from baseball, he changed his mind and signed a minor league contract with the Cardinals in February. The Cardinals released him in March and he remains a free agent.
