8. What's in store for young arms in second half?
The 24-year-old Jon Lester had an outstanding first half (3.38 ERA, plus a no-hitter), but he's still untested over the course of a full season in the majors. He is currently at 125 innings (most on the team) and is quickly entering uncharted waters. He has never pitched more than 148 1/3 innings at any professional level. Clay Buchholz, 23, struggled in his first start back in the rotation, and we've yet to see how Justin Masterson, 23, will perform in his new bullpen role as well (though righties have hit just .170 against him).
