Pleasant surprises

J.D. Drew overcame a sluggish first season in Boston to win the All-Star Game MVP award. Drew has hit .291 with 18 homers and 57 RBIs, anchoring the Sox' lineup in David Ortiz's absence. Jason Giambi shed steroid accusations and grew a moustache, becoming a rock in the Yankees' offense in the process. He's slugged 20 homers and has 57 RBIs so far.
