Former Red Sox reliever Rich "El Guapo" Garces is mounting a comeback in professional baseball with the Nashua (N.H.) Pride of the independent Can-Am League.

The 36-year-old Garces, best known for his rotund physique and the six seasons he spent in Boston, said this is no publicity stunt.
