The Red Sox defense bailed Derek Lowe out of a first-inning jam with a spectacular double play. After Pokey Reese ranged over and threw from his knees, shortstop Orlando Cabrera managed to leap over a sliding Melvin Mora and throw to first, where a stretching Doug Mientkiewicz completed the play.
