David Ortiz tried to beat the shift and jumpstart the Boston offense by laying down a bunt attempt with Edgar Renteria on first and one out in the seventh, but the ball ended up just in front of home plate and Toronto catcher Gregg Zaun pounced on it and cut down Renteria at second base.
