Jimmie Foxx, 1938 The legendary 'Double X' claimed his third MVP award of his career (but his first as a Red Sox) after batting .349 with 50 homers and 175 RBIs. He narrowly missed the Triple Crown, finishing second to Detroit's Hank Greenberg in home runs. His 50 home runs stood as the franchise record until David Ortiz slugged 54 homers in 2006, and his 175 RBIs remain the club record.
