Fred Lynn, 1975
Along with fellow rookie Rice, Lynn was one of the famed "Gold Dust Twins" who arrived on the scene in '75 and helped spark the Red Sox to the American League pennant. A graceful center fielder with a classic lefthanded swing, the 23-year-old Californian batted .331 with 21 homers, 105 RBIs, and an OPS of .967 while also winning the AL Rookie of the Year award. His signature performance came June 18 at Tiger Stadium, when he went 5 for 6 with three homers and 10 RBIs.
