Coco Crisp made his first appearance as a member of the Red Sox in Fort Myers. In January 2006, the Sox acquired Crisp in a trade with the Indians for prospect Andy Marte, whom Boston acquired from Atlanta in the Edgar Renteria trade, and catcher Kelly Shoppach. Crisp was brought in to replace center fielder Johnny Damon, who had signed on with the Yankees.
