David Ortiz, $52 million Big Papi earned a big paycheck after his 2005 season, in which he hit .300, with 47 HRs and 148 RBIs. The club signed him to an extension through the 2010 season in April '06, and he responded by smacking a club-record 54 homers and driving in 137.
