Red Sox offseason overview - with the Boston Globe's Gordon Edes
The Sox wasted little time locking up Cora, who confirmed he has reached a deal in principle to return. The only question with Cora, 31, was whether he would find a market to play every day with another club, but evidently he feels that he will get enough playing time backing up Pedroia at 2B and whoever the Sox get to play SS. He’s limited offensively, but Cora is terrific defensively on both sides of the 2B bag and also played 11 games at 3B. He should be valuable in showing Pedroia the ropes.
