Saved from the junkyard: Red Sox reclamations
Kevin Mitchell
In 1989, Kevin Mitchell was the Most Valuable Player in the National League, hitting 47 home runs and batting in 125 runs. After five less-spectacular years, the burly Mitchell came to the Sox as a left fielder in 1996. He was a disappointment, playing in only 27 games and slugging just .385 during his one abbreviated season with the Sox.
