Remembering the 2004 World Series
In 2004, the Red Sox capped off a comeback of legendary proportions, rallying from a 3-0 deficit in the American League Championship Series to to beat the Yankees in seven games, then going on to beat St. Louis for their first World Series in 86 years. In a year in which Sox fans will have to watch the Yankees compete for a World Series, it seems appropriate, on the five-year anniversary, to look back on the incredible journey of the 2004 Red Sox team. Here, Curt Schilling (left) and Derek Lowe (right) jump into the air as their teammates pour out of the dugout following the final out of Game 7 of the ALCS, in which the Red Sox beat the Yankees, 10-3.
